As Filipinos, do you think we are looking at things on a different angle?
On recent typhoon and calamities that hit our country we merely questioned what we learned from it, and, why it devastated our country to such an extent that not only properties were lost but lives as well. In my opinion it is not a question of what and why, but, finding a solution, a solution which is a one step ahead on how are we going to deal with it if it happens or in case of recurrence. Surely, Filipinos have shown resiliency. Surely, Filipinos have shown the concept of Bayanihan by helping those who were affected. Kapit kamay pa nga sa lahat ng hirap. But, should it stop there? Is it not time for us to adapt the concept of "what if..?" instead, one step in advance on how to deal on what will happen next. Like, "what if" a hurricane hit us do we have a contingency plan to deal with this kind of calamity. Do we? If our government have a plan for everything don't you think it will be easy for us to follow the standards set by them in case something happens, whether it concerns calamity or national security. Ang hirap sa atin minsan we deal with situations when it happens and as it happens. But, it does not help us at all. We are just trying to find solutions to the problem, when we should always strive to prevent it. Ano sa tingin niyo?
