Visual Studio 2005 C++ help?

How do I compile C++ using VIsual Studio? I have C SHell, but IT WON'T ADMIT THAT IT CAN COMPILE C++! I'VE TRIED which c++ which g++ which gcc which gpp, which cpp, and VIsual Studios just makes a .exe file that makes a DOS window pop up and then the DOS window kind of dies...
