Opinions please (a quotation)?
RE.your quotation: every one is secure in one's own belief expressed in choice language, and in the course of saying what they believe, they express opinions. Unfortunately, not all such opinions are based on the play of unadultetrated reason. In the above quote , the author umes, perhaps, that he or she has an intimate knowledge of the workings of the human mind when so many abstract terms like knowledge, wisdom , humanity, courage etc are used. In my opinion there seems to be a desire on the part of the writer to pronounce total objective judgement on matters of human behaviour; I think that may not be necessarily true in its entirety. Seems to be the work of churchman of the last century or probably a philosopher called David Wiggins!! Many thanks.
