HI I just brought my first dollhouse, I brought it at a church garage sale.?

Ok here is my concerns: I see there is an old copper looking tape systems in the house. Certain part of the tape is missing or torn. Should I restart the lighting system, because I'm removing the wallpaper/carpet; so Im seeing all the tape wire systems running up the walls and under the carpet.
