Is WPA really more robust than WEP?

I'm looking at buy a Wireless repeater for my first floor. I checked around and the Repeater is only WEP capable. It's a Netgear WN802Tv2. The person is asking $20 and it retails for $100. Should I just pick it up and use WEP or look for a WPA capable repeater?
