What do you make of someone (ex-friend) who pops four tranquilizers a night & drinks cough syrup w. codeine?

Goes through between six and twelve bottles of codeine-laced cough syrup a month, takes two anti-depressents (Prozac and Paxil), amphetamine derivatives prescribed for narcolepsy, Ritalin, other barbiturate, sleeping pills, diuretics, laxatives and is hugely fond of pot brownies, smoking pot and taking other stuff? (Amazingly, doesn't drink much).
