How well does manic panic work in medium reddish brown hair and how fast will it wash out?

I serve drinks at a local dance club and would like to do something crazy this halloween. I'm thinking about dying my hair some vibrant purple or bright red (turquoise if it truly can wash out right away), I've done some research about Manic Panic and Special Effects hair dyes and can't decide which is better. I want it to look really good (not splotchy and cheap like a colored gel) but also to be able to wash out completely in a few weeks and not damage my hair. Is this realistic? Which dye meets these needs closest?
